ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc., (NYSE:AAI) , advises this morning that passengers booked on flights to or from Atlanta or connecting through Atlanta on the morning of Saturday, January 29, 2005, will experience cancellations due to a winter ice storm moving through Atlanta.

Due to the moderate freezing rain at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the current weather forecast, and the hazardous and deteriorating road conditions in Atlanta, passengers with itineraries involving Atlanta on Saturday morning, January 29, 2005, should stay at home for their own safety and check with the airline before venturing to the airport.

As of 5:30 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2005, the airline has cancelled 73 flights for the day. Passengers affected by these flight cancellations are being offered the opportunity to alter their flight itineraries without change or cancellation fees or fare adjustments.

Passengers are encouraged to check on their flight status online at http://www.airtran.com/ on the home page under "Flight Status" or they may call the airline at 1-800-AIRTRAN.
