Groundhog Day 2005 Video Feed, Press Credentialing, On-Site Media Hospitality Room Information

MEDIA ROOM: Gates on Gobbler’s Knob will open at 3 a.m. on Feb. 2 for Groundhog Day. Space will be limited to credentialed press on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, as part of the celebration, the Pennsylvania Tourism Office will host a media hospitality room on Gobbler’s Knob. The room will be open to press from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. that day.

Wireless DSL Internet access will be provided free on a first-come, first- served basis from the Pennsylvania Tourism Office to press with wireless cards in their laptops to assist with the posting of stories. Four network cables will also be available for connecting and getting online. Instructions on how to access Wireless Internet service will be available. Background information about the legend of Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney and general information about Pennsylvania tourism will also be provided on site.

Members of the media are welcome to warm up, enjoy a cup of coffee and a snack. Located in the only building on Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, the room may be used to file a story.

VIDEO FEED: The Pennsylvania Satellite News Service will provide a LIVE video feed Wednesday, February 2, 2005, between 6:30 – 8:00 a.m. of the celebration and activities at the annual Groundhog Day winter prediction with Punxsutawney Phil in Punxsutawney. Field coordinates are: SBS-6 (KU Band) – Transponder 5 Horizontal – Channel 5, downlink frequency 11823 MHz, Audio 6.2 / 6.8
