AirTran Airways Accelerates Launch of Service From Indianapolis to Atlanta and Adds New Market

Daily Nonstop Service to/from Atlanta and Tampa Will Begin April 9, 2005; to/from Orlando Begins June 7, 2005

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AAI) , today announced the airline has moved up its starting date for new daily nonstop service to Indianapolis International Airport and also added daily nonstop service to Tampa in order to fill the void created by other carrier’s service changes in Indianapolis. Three daily flights between Indianapolis and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and one daily flight to Tampa now will begin operating on April 9, 2005. The airline also will add a daily nonstop flight between Indianapolis and Orlando International Airport beginning June 7, 2005 as previously announced. All three routes will be served by the airline’s popular Boeing 717 aircraft with 12 Business Class and 105 coach seats.

“We’ve received such positive response from our new service announcement last month that we have moved up the start date in order to offer our low-fare service even sooner,” said Kevin Healy, AirTran Airways’ vice president of planning and sales. “With recent announcements of reduced service in the market, we’re responding to requests from the airport, city and the public to meet the needs of the Central Indiana traveling public. We’ve also added a daily nonstop flight to Tampa for Central Indiana residents who want to bask in the Florida sun. These flights will provide Indianapolis with its only low- fare, nonstop service to Atlanta and to Tampa.”
