Delta Adding New Point-to-Point Service, New Destinations From Hubs

Airline offering new flights to Boise, Idaho; Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; Jackson, Wyo.; and Nassau, Bahamas

ATLANTA, March 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Delta (NYSE:DAL) customers soon will have more U.S. and international options thanks to new service beginning this spring and summer. Delta will offer two new summer destinations from Atlanta, the world’s largest hub, and one new destination from its Salt Lake City hub. It will also begin point-to-point service in May between Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Nassau, Bahamas.

The new service includes the following:
* Non-stop daily flights between Atlanta and Boise, Idaho, beginning June
1, operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft;
* Saturday-only summer season flights between Atlanta and Jackson, Wyo.,
beginning June 4 and operated with Boeing 757 aircraft; (Delta serves
Jackson nonstop from Atlanta on Saturdays during the winter peak season
and daily from Salt Lake City on mainline service, as well as flights
operated by Delta Connection partner SkyWest.)
* Non-stop daily flights between Salt Lake City and Raleigh-Durham, N.C.
— the first ever between the two cities — beginning June 1, operated
with 737-800 the aircraft; and
* Two non-stop daily flights between Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Nassau,
Bahamas, beginning May 1 and operated by Delta Connection carrier
Chautauqua Airlines, using Embraer Regional Jet aircraft.

Customers in Atlanta or connecting in Atlanta now will be able to explore Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, go whitewater rafting and explore pristine Western landscapes more easily, thanks to non-stop flights operating throughout the summer months. Business customers also will benefit from the new Boise flights, since the city is home to many corporations, including Boise-Cascade, Micron Technologies and Albertsons.

In addition, customers originating or connecting in Salt Lake City now will have non-stop flights to Raleigh-Durham, thanks to Delta’s increased hub reach. Finally, sun lovers in greater Fort Lauderdale will have a new, convenient way to reach the island charms of Nassau.

“All the service Delta is announcing today represents new non-stop markets, chosen because of customer demand,” said Doug Blissit, vice president-Network Analysis. “Service from Atlanta to Boise provides easier east-west connections for both business and leisure travelers, while our Saturday-only service to Jackson recognizes an increased need for flights when the slopes aren’t covered with snow.

“In addition, our first-ever non-stop service between Salt Lake City and Raleigh-Durham links a growing business market to a growing hub. And finally, our point-to-point flights between Fort Lauderdale and Nassau will serve growing demand between these two sunny destinations.”
