Aspen Colorado Summer Family Vacations - For the Rich and Not-So-Famous
Aspen has always been known as a vacation destination for the rich and famous. This summer even little ones can indulge in this spectacular resort.
Aspen, CO (PRWEB) April 10, 2006 -- Aspen has always been known as a vacation destination for the rich and famous. This summer even little ones can indulge in this spectacular resort.
Believe it or not children as young as three years old have experienced a ride up Aspen Mountain to one of Aspen Paragliding’s launch site and glided through the air for two hours. It’s a mere $215 for the two hour experience.
Or how about a hot air balloon ride. Take the whole family and watch the sunrise over the Rockies with Above It All Balloon Flights. Mom, dad and 2 kids would be around $800 for a four hour trip.
Aspen Expeditions will customize a rock climbing day for your little ones (kids as young as 7 years old have gone). For around $100 per child they can have an all-day rock climbing adventure.
Kids love Boogie’s Diner and retail shop for a $9 burger or a $200 pair of jeans. The skies the limit when you are in Aspen.
For lodging try The Little Nell’s, Pfeifer Suite. It’s 2,000 square feet with two bedrooms and two and a half bathroom suite, perfect for a family of four and only $3,000 per night this summer. And if little Taylor does not want to leave Sparky at home, the staff at The Little Nell can provide up to date information on doggie menus, pet sitting services and pet walking services.
Actually some of the best things in Aspen for kids this summer are free – hiking among the wildflowers, watching the sun set behind the mountains or listening to a classical music quartet on an Aspen street corner. There’s a free Friday admission at the Aspen Art Museum, free Aspen Music Festival concerts on the lawn, free Outdoor movies under the stars on Thursday evenings at Aspen Highlands, free guided nature hikes atop of Aspen Mountain, free classical music concerts (Saturdays) and bluegrass performances (Sundays) atop Aspen Mountain, and free tours and lectures at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village. Aspen Highlands Offers free outdoor movies under the stars on Thursday evenings; free music on Tuesdays and Fridays, free beer on Wednesday. The Maroon Bells bus ride, which departs from Aspen Highlands, is free to children under 5.
