Destination Cycling and ROAR Africa Launch South African Cycle Safari
Destination Cycling and ROAR Africa announce new cycling vacation along South Africa’s Southern Cape
MARBLEHEAD, MA (PRWEB) March 15, 2006 -- Destination Cycling and ROAR Africa have announced a new Southern Cape Cycle Safari vacation package. The trip itinerary and activities highlight the unique expertise of both companies: Destination Cycling’s experience operating luxury European cycling vacations and ROAR Africa’s intimate knowledge of the South African landscape, culture, and accommodations.
“With the addition of the South African itinerary, Destination Cycling now offers over 30 cycling vacations across three continents,” says Joe Tonon, Destination Cycling’s Co-Founder and Director. “Together with ROAR Africa, we offer the true ‘insiders’ guide’ to the best of the Cape’s scenic terrain, history, cuisine, wine, and wildlife.”
During the 12 day/11 night journey, guests explore the Cape's rich cultural heritage spanning more than 300 years. Included in the trip will be tours of Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Robben Island, the former prison of Nelson Mandela, and the Cape Winelands, the largest wine producing region in the Western Cape. The cycling itinerary explores the Garden Route and Klein Karoo, spanning the coastal belt from Witsands whale birthing haven in the west to the Plettenberg Bays beaches. Guests also have the opportunity to ride the famous Argus Cycle Tour route.
The grand finale of the Southern Cape Cycle Safari includes a three-day African safari in Kruger National Park. Led by expert guides, guests will be on the lookout for the “Big Five” (Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino) and will stay at an exclusive private safari camp.
“ROAR Africa is pleased to collaborate with Destination Cycling on such an incredible adventure,” says Deborah Calmeyer, ROAR Africa’s Co-Founder and Director. “Our history of consulting and providing customized tours of South Africa allows us access to the best services and accommodations and gives us the ability to offer intimate experiences. Chosen for their quality, exceptional cuisine, diverse activities, and commitment to conservation, trip accommodations range from historic estate homes to safari lodges. Miles of unspoiled wilderness, warm hospitality, and big blue skies await you in South Africa.”
