American Horse Council Features Connecticut Riding Trail on New Recreation Webpage
WASHINGTON, DC - The American Horse Council (AHC) selected the Larkin State Park Trail in Southbury, Oxford, Naugatuck and Waterbury, Conn., as the first AHC Featured Riding Trail.
The AHC Featured Riding Trail program is part of the new http://www.horsecouncil.org webpage highlighting the interests of the recreation industry. This Recreation webpage will contain details on the most recently featured trail and information on pending recreation legislative issues.
Suggested by the Connecticut Horse Council, the Larkin State Park Trail is an 11-mile wildlife corridor of scenic and historic areas dedicated by the late Charles Larkin to the State of Connecticut as a designated State Bridle Trail.

The AHC’s 2005 Economic Impact of the Horse Industry on the United States study includes some impressive statistics that confirm the size and significant impact of the recreational horse industry.
With approximately 4 million horses involved in recreation activities, this segment of the horse industry has a $32 billion effect on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
