ORLANDO, Fla., May 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AAI) , today launched a sale for travel to all of the airline's destinations with fares starting as low as $39 each way. Travelers may only purchase these sale fares at http://www.airtran.com/.

These special fares are available for purchase May 17 and May 18, 2005, are good for travel through November 8, 2005, and are not valid for travel on Fridays or Sundays. Like all AirTran Airways fares, prices included in this sale are available for one-way travel and do not require a roundtrip purchase or a Saturday night stay.

* All fares are one-way. All fares are non-refundable and a $50 fee per person applies to any change made after purchase plus any applicable increase in airfare. Fares are available for travel beginning June 1, 2005 for travel through November 8, 2005. Fares are only available on http://www.airtran.com/ and tickets must be purchased by May 18, 2005. Lowest advertised fares are available for travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Additional sale fares are valid for travel on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Fares are not valid for travel on Friday or Sunday. Richmond service begins June 23, 2005. Seats are limited subject to availability and may not be available on all flights. Blackout dates are as follows: June 18, 25 and June 30; July 1-5 and 9; September 2, 5; and October 10, 2005. Fares, routes and schedules are subject to change without notice. Fares do not include per-segment tax of $3.20. A segment is defined as one takeoff and one landing. The September 11th security fee of up to $10 is not included. Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18 are not included. Fares to/from Grand Bahama Island do not include U.S. and Bahamian taxes of $87.15.
