AirTran Airways to Operate Six Additional Katrina Relief Flights Over Labor Day Weekend
ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AAI) , today announced that the airline will continue to operate Katrina relief flights through the Labor Day Weekend with six Air Mobility Command flights from various military bases to Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans, La., carrying U.S. troops and much-needed relief to the Katrina affected areas.
The airline is made up of 6,700 Crew Members who care and who have flown several humanitarian relief missions to Louisiana and Mississippi in the past few days.
