Flights to/from Gulfport/Biloxi and New Orleans Cancelled Due to Hurricane Katrina
ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Due to airport closures in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, AirTran Airways has cancelled flights scheduled to/from Gulfport/Biloxi, Miss. and New Orleans, La. for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (August 30 – September 1, 2005). Once the affected airports reopen the airline will resume flights, so passengers booked to fly to these cities past September 1, 2005 should call 1-800-AIRTRAN for further updates.
Every effort is being made by AirTran Airways to notify the affected passengers of these flight cancellations and to make alternate travel arrangements. Passengers scheduled to fly into or out of Gulfport/Biloxi and New Orleans through Thursday, September 1, 2005, are being offered the opportunity to alter the travel dates of their flight itineraries without change or cancellation fees or fare adjustments. Travel must occur within 7 days of the original travel date. The airline will also allow passengers to cancel their travel to these cities booked for these dates and receive a credit to use for travel up to one year from the date of purchase.
