AirTran Airways Continues Western Service Expansion

Nonstop Flights to/from Akron-Canton and Flint, and Additional Flight to Atlanta, Begin This Summer

ORLANDO, Fla., May 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AAI) , today announced the airline will add new roundtrip flights from Las Vegas to both Akron-Canton and Flint this summer. The new nonstop flights, five times weekly to each market, will begin August 4, 2005, and will be served by the airline’s popular Boeing 737 aircraft. The airline also will add a fourth daily, roundtrip, nonstop flight between Las Vegas and Atlanta.

“AirTran Airways is an emerging low-cost carrier at McCarran International Airport. The announcement is good news for the traveling public. Two out of the three destinations announced — Akron-Canton, Ohio and Flint, Michigan — were not a direct service option for McCarran travelers, until now. We are excited to have AirTran increase its service and always welcome options that create convenience and flexibility for our travelers,” said Randall H. Walker, Clark County Department of Aviation director.

“AirTran Airways has brought a lot of lucky travelers to Las Vegas, and we are excited to expand that winning combination to include new nonstop service to Akron-Canton and Flint Bishop International,” said Kevin Healy, AirTran Airways’ vice president of planning and sales. “Las Vegas is a strong market getting stronger; we’ve been exceptionally pleased with the support we’ve received for our service to Atlanta and Dallas-Ft. Worth and are confident that our unique brand of high quality low fare service will continue to attract both business and leisure passengers in the Las Vegas market to Northeast Ohio and the Detroit area.”
