-- Motorcycling organization will highlight 'Ride Straight,' other programs --

PICKERINGTON, Ohio, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has announced that "MembersTour2005" will visit Arizona Bike Week in Scottsdale, Arizona, from Friday, April 1 through Sunday, April 10.

The MembersTour2005 tractor-trailer rig will be the center of AMA activities at Arizona Bike Week. AMA representatives will be on-hand to greet AMA members and other motorcycling enthusiasts, and to discuss the important issues facing American motorcyclists today. Programs to be highlighted include:

- Ride Straight: Alcohol and motorcycling don't mix -- statistics have
shown that more than 40 percent of fatally injured motorcyclists were
impaired. This program educates motorcyclists about the dangers of
drinking and riding.

- Loud Pipes Risk Rights: Few things contribute more to prejudice against
American motorcyclists than excessive motorcycle noise. This program
conveys the message that the motorcycling community benefits when we
ride with respect for our fellow citizens.

- Justice for All: What's a reasonable sentence for a driver who kills or
seriously injures another motorist? This program shows motorcyclists
how they can help focus the public's attention on the disturbing trend
of inadequate sentencing.

MembersTour2005 will offer the opportunity for motorcyclists to join the AMA at Arizona Bike Week, and current AMA members can renew their memberships. The MembersTour2005 display also will feature a hospitality area and a free "jacket-and-helmet check" exclusively for AMA members.

Between now and November, MembersTour2005 will visit 16 other major motorcycle events, including Laughlin, Americade, Laconia, AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, Sturgis, Golden Aspen, and Biketoberfest.

Sponsors of MembersTour2005 include Mustang Motorcycle Seats, Bub Enterprises, Thunder Manufacturing, Biker's Atlas, and Phoenix-based Motorcycle Mechanics Institute.
