American Airlines, American Eagle Will Begin 5 Daily Flights Between Atlanta and New York on June 9

ATLANTA, May 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Beginning June 9, air travelers between Atlanta and New York will have a convenient new alternative — five new daily flights between Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and New York’s LaGuardia Airport operated by American Airlines and its regional affiliate, American Eagle.

All the new American and American Eagle flights will depart from, and arrive at American’s dedicated T Concourse in the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport’s North Terminal.

“Atlanta-New York travelers will now have access to a level of time- savings and convenience they’ve never had before,” said Gerald Mcgaughey, Regional Sales Director for American. “The North T Concourse is a short walk from curbside. No Train to the Plane is necessary. And passengers coming in from La Guardia will know they will always be arriving at the T Concourse.

“In addition, the T Concourse has a dedicated TSA Security entrance, which is generally less crowded than other TSA entrances at Atlanta. Add the handy baggage claim located in the lower level of the Concourse and the American Airlines Admirals Club opposite gate T10, and you have a very convenient, passenger-pleasing experience,” Mcgaughey said.

Of the five LaGuardia-Atlanta flights, three will employ mainline MD80 jets operated by American Airlines and two will use state-of-the-art 37-seat Embraer ERJ-135 jets operated by American Eagle.

“We are pleased at the increased demand we are seeing for American and American Eagle flights from the New York airports,” said Chuck Imhof, Managing Director-Greater New York Division. “Passengers are giving a strong vote of confidence to our unparalleled network, great service and competitive pricing.”
