The Weather Outside Is Frightful … But the Fares Are Sooo Delightful

FORT WORTH, Texas, Dec. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Attention all skiers, snowboarders and anyone else who likes to hurtle down slippery slopes: American Airlines is now offering great low fares to select ski destinations for travel between mid-January and mid-February 2006.

Whether you’re a novice at winter sports or a seasoned veteran, American’s low fares are the perfect lift (pun intended) to a relaxing and fun-filled winter getaway. It’s a great time to save some green in your quest for sparkling white snow.

American’s special ski destination sale fares are available for travel to and from Gunnison/Crested Butte, Montrose/Telluride, Steamboat Springs/Hayden and Vail/Eagle in Colorado; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and Calgary and Vancouver in Canada.

Here are the highlights of American’s sale fares:

Fares shown are valid for travel to Jackson Hole, Wyo; Gunnison/Crested Butte, Colo.; Montrose/Telluride, Colo.; Steamboat Springs/Hayden, Colo; Vail/Eagle, Colo.; Calgary, Canada; and Vancouver, Canada, Sunday through Tuesday, and travel from these cities is valid Wednesday through Friday. Fares do not include (a) a federal excise tax of $3.20 per U.S. domestic flight segment, defined as one takeoff and landing, of a passenger’s itinerary; (b) up to $18 per round trip in local airport charges; and (c) September 11th Security Fee of $2.50 per enplanement originating at a U.S. airport, up to $5 per one way or $10 per round trip. Fares for destinations in Canada do not include Federal Inspection Fee of $7 USD per round trip or Air Traveler Security charge of up to $24 CAD per passenger originating at a Canadian airport.

Tickets must be purchased at least 14 days prior to departure, within 24 hours of making reservations, or by midnight Dec. 31, 2005 (Central Standard Time), whichever comes first.

Fares are valid for travel Jan. 15 through Feb 17, 2006. A one-night minimum stay is required.

Advertised fares are valid only on American Airlines, American Eagle, and AmericanConnection(R) and do not apply to other codeshare flights. Seats are limited. Fares may not be available on all flights. Schedules are subject to change without notice.

Fares are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Changes to your ticket may be made if you cancel your reservation before the original departure time, meet the restrictions of the new fare, and pay up to a $100 change fee plus any fare difference. When ticketed flights are canceled prior to departure time, the ticket will be valid for one year from the date of issue on an unused ticket or one year from travel origination on a partially used ticket. If you do not cancel your flight before departure time, the ticket has no value.
