More Than $22 Million Raised for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Since 1986

FORT WORTH, Texas, March 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Celebrities and skiers from all walks of life buckled their boots and hit the slopes March 2-5, 2006 as American Airlines kicked off its 21st annual Celebrity Ski Weekend fundraiser supporting Cystic Fibrosis research and development. American Airlines Celebrity Ski Weekend raised $1 million this year, and more than $22 million since 1986, to fund research for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

Skiers, celebrities and supporters of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation convened at Vail Cascade Resort and Spa, Vail's only AAA Four-Diamond resort club. Participants enjoyed a weekend of mingling, skiing and nightly dining and entertainment to raise money in support of developing a viable treatment for the disease.

"We've raised millions of dollars for this worthy cause over the past 21 years through Celebrity Ski. All of us at American Airlines are dedicated to supporting our communities, and that commitment from our employees and partners shows in long-running efforts like this one," said Dan Garton, American's Executive Vice President-Marketing.
