American Eagle Adds Jet Service Between Rochester, N.Y., And Dallas/Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, Texas, May 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, will add nonstop service between Greater Rochester (New York) International Airport and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport beginning Aug. 1. American Eagle will operate one daily round-trip flight between the two cities using 70-seat CRJ-700 jets.

“Our new service between Rochester and DFW is timed to provide business travelers the opportunity to hold meetings in Dallas/Fort Worth and return home the same day or make easy connections to cities in Texas and the neighboring Gulf and Western States,” said American Eagle President Peter Bowler. “Rochester passengers also can make easy connections to international flights bound for the beaches and business centers of Mexico once they arrive at American’s largest hub.”

The new service is in addition to the carrier’s five nonstop daily flights between Rochester and Chicago O’Hare.

“This is great news for Rochester and the people who use Greater Rochester International Airport to travel the country and the world,” said U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer. “The airport welcomes millions of travelers to upstate New York every year, and this new service will better connect the people of Rochester and its businesses to our nation’s growing transportation network.”

“It is good news that American Eagle will add nonstop service between Greater Rochester International Airport and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in August,” said U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton. “It is important for air service in upstate New York to continue expanding.”

“I am pleased that American Eagle Airlines has added this important flight,” said U.S. Rep. Louise McIntosh Slaughter. “This new connection will spur more business travel in and out of Rochester and facilitate easy transfers to international destinations.”

“The addition of non-stop flight service to Dallas/Fort Worth offers more options for travelers, especially business travelers,” said Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks. “The improvements we have made at our airport have helped drive expansion into new markets. Our airport has experienced record growth as more and more people are choosing to fly out of Rochester. The new non-stop flight to Dallas/Forth Worth is one more reason for travelers to choose the Greater Rochester International Airport.”
