American Eagle Adds Jet Service Between Syracuse and Dallas/Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, Texas, May 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, will add nonstop service between Hancock International Airport in Syracuse, N.Y., and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport beginning August 1. American Eagle will operate one daily round-trip flight between the two cities using 70-seat CRJ-700 jets.

“Our new service between Syracuse and DFW is timed to provide travelers the opportunity to connect with international flights bound for the business centers and beaches of Mexico and South America, or to dozens of cities in Texas and the neighboring Gulf and Western States, once they arrive at American’s largest hub,” said American Eagle President Peter Bowler. “The return flight from DFW to Syracuse is timed to connect with flights arriving in the morning from Latin America.”

“This is great news for Syracuse and the people who use Hancock Airport to travel the country and the world,” said U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer. “The airport welcomes millions of travelers to upstate New York every year and this will only add to the airport’s already record growth.”

“I am thrilled that American Eagle is adding nonstop service between Hancock International Airport and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport this coming August,” said U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton. “These new flights are another indication of the importance of Hancock International Airport.”

“I am pleased to see this new market open up for Central New Yorkers,” said U.S. Rep. James T. Walsh. “Direct flights to a large hub like Dallas/Fort Worth will only increase the flying options and decrease the prices out of Hancock.”

The new service is in addition to the carrier’s five nonstop daily flights between Syracuse and Chicago O’Hare.
