American Eagle Will Begin Service Between Gulfport-Biloxi and Dallas/Fort Worth on Dec. 15

FORT WORTH, Texas, Oct. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, announced today that it will add nonstop service between Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport beginning Dec. 15. American Eagle will operate two daily round-trip flights between the two cities using 50-seat Embraer ERJ- 145 jets.

The new service, originally announced in June, was planned to begin Oct. 30, but was delayed due to the impact of Hurricane Katrina.

“I’m pleased to learn that American Eagle is moving forward with their scheduled service to the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport,” said Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.). “This shows American Airlines’ commitment to the economic recovery of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.”

“Our airport and American Airlines’ new service will play a crucial role in rebuilding South Mississippi’s economic base,” said Sen. Trent Lott (R- Miss.).

“The Mississippi Gulf Coast is open for business,” said Ken Spirito, Assistant Executive Director-Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport. “I cannot think of a better way to show it than to have a new airline announce new service.”
