Apple Vacations Reports Significant Upswing in Puerto Vallarta and Punta Cana Vacations in Post-Wilma Rebookings

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ — Puerto Vallarta and Punta Cana are the top two vacation destinations benefiting from passengers rebooking their vacations away from the damaged Cancun-area. Even before Hurricane Wilma forced vacationers to switch their vacation destinations, charter bookings to the two beach locations were up over last year, but post- Wilma, Apple Vacations is reporting significant passenger movement to Puerto Vallarta and Punta Cana.

Puerto Vallarta, on the west coast of Mexico, is known for its colonial downtown district and modern resorts. January vacations to Puerto Vallarta start from $649.99 for four nights at Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach Resort, including round-trip air from O’Hare, all meals, drinks and the services of an in-resort Apple representative. Apple Vacations exclusive vacation flights depart from Chicago to Puerto Vallarta twice weekly.

In the Caribbean, Punta Cana features sugar-white beaches and luxurious all-inclusive resorts. Apple Vacations charter packages to Punta Cana for a week at Natura Park Beach Eco-Resort and Spa start from $899.99, including round-trip air from O’Hare, all meals, drinks and the services of an in-resort Apple representative. Apple Vacations exclusive vacation flights depart from Chicago to Punta Cana four times a week.

In the meantime, Riviera Maya, largely unaffected by the recent hurricane, is ready for vacationers. Apple Vacations – the world’s leading tour operator to Cancun and Rivera Maya – has resumed daily flights to the area, hotels are 90 percent operational and stores, restaurants, bars and shops are open and ready for business. Four all-inclusive nights in January in Riviera Maya’s RIU Tequila start from $749.99, including round-trip air.

Prices are per person based on double occupancy and charter air for select dates. Sept. 11 security fees and other taxes and fees up to $115 not included. Restrictions apply.
