Join the First Ayurveda Retreat at Round Hill Jamaica
MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica, WI – June 10, 2007—Round Hill Hotel & Villas is hosting “A Weekend in Balance,” its first Ayurvedic retreat, October 5 through October 8, 2007. This ancient Indian system of healthy living offers guidelines to keep the doshas (body type) in balance. Leading the retreat will be Dr. Pratima Raichur, author of Absolute Beauty and a pioneer of Ayurveda in the US. Her achievements in the areas of bringing one’s life into balance from the Ayurveda perspective have been featured in many top health and beauty magazines.
Over the course of three days, guests will participate in workshops led by Dr. Raichur. They will learn good nutrition and foods that are right for them, discover herbal healing techniques, and practice breathing exercises and meditation by the Caribbean Sea. They will talk with Dr. Raichur in the relaxed atmosphere of a tea in her villa. Each session is designed to help participants achieve living a life of balance according to their constitution.
There will still be time to enjoy activities offered by Round Hill, one of the most beautiful resorts in the Caribbean, completely in sync with nature. A special feature is the Spa at Round Hill, a celebrated 19th century plantation house on 10-acres of waterfront property. This is now the home of a full service spa, state of the art fitness center, and tranquil beach facilities. The treatments at the Spa are also predicated on healing and wellness and are enhanced with products from Elemis, an aromatherapy line known for its pure essential oils and plant extracts that have a high therapeutic value.
Rambling across a lush, 110-acre peninsula, Round Hill has been a legend in the Caribbean since the ‘50s when it played host to notables such as Noel Coward, John F. Kennedy, Grace Kelly, Cole Porter, and the Paleys. Maintaining its mystique, Round Hill still attracts celebrities who enjoy the resort’s tranquil elegance and natural beauty.
In addition to breakfast and dinner included in the “A Weekend in Balance” package, Round Hill serves sandwiches and salads at the Main Bar or the Beach and Pool Bars all day. Five all-weather tennis courts, jogging and walking path, and a weekly nature walk are offered. Golf can be arranged at a championship course a few minutes away with complimentary transportation. The retreat includes three nights accommodation in a newly renovated Oceanfront Room designed by the Ralph Lauren design team, private airport transfers, welcome gift, breakfast and dinner served on the Seaside Terrace or room service, non-motorized water sports, fitness center and tennis courts. The rates are $3,157 per room, double occupancy or $1,972 per person, single occupancy. Bookings are available from June 15 until August 30.
