California Art Club and Marston’s Restaurant Launch Series of Exhibitions Spotlighting Promising Young California Artists

First ‘Rising Young Star’ Exhibition to Feature Artwork of Amery Bohling, Will Include an ‘Artist Dinner’ at the Famed Restaurant

PASADENA, CA — (MARKET WIRE) — 09/19/2005 — To showcase the artwork of talented young California fine artists, the California Art Club is teaming with famed Pasadena eatery Marston’s Restaurant to launch later this month an ongoing series of “Rising Young Star” exhibitions.

The first of these eight-week-long exhibitions will feature 10 paintings of 28-year-old Amery Bohling and will be on view from Wednesday, September 21, to Sunday, November 13. Bohling is one of the Club’s 32 Mentor Program Members — artists under the age of 30 who represent a new generation of California artists.

On the evening of Tuesday, October 4, Marston’s will offer an “Artist Dinner,” at which collectors can dine with Bohling and learn about her artwork and promising career. The cost of dinner, which will begin at 7 p.m., is $45 per person, plus tax and tip, and includes hors d’oeuvres, salad, a main course, dessert and coffee. Reservations are required, as space is limited, and can be made by calling (626) 796-2459.

“After the tremendous success of last year’s exhibition with our Mentor Program Members at the club’s permanent gallery at The Old Mill in San Marino, we are thrilled to be able to continue to showcase the work of these up-and-coming artists at Marston’s Restaurant,” said artist Peter Adams, who serves as the Club’s president. “It is only appropriate that in a city like Pasadena, with world-class museums and rich cultural offerings, that art lovers have the place where they can enjoy fine art and fine dining at the same time.”

Marston’s Restaurant, which features classic American cuisine, has been an institution in Pasadena since 1988. The restaurant is located at 151 East Walnut St. and is open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Sunday and for dinner Wednesday through Sunday.
