Celtic Manor’s Winter Wonderland Provides A Perfect Christmas Escape

NEWPORT, Wales, October 18/PRNewswire/ —

Fabulous food, a magical atmosphere and plenty of festive fun to keep the children entertained, all in the luxurious surrounds of a five star resort. This year, celebrate the season in style at The Celtic Manor Resort and you can be assured of a fantastic family Christmas to be remembered for years to come.

A Winter Wonderland

The minute you arrive at Celtic Manor, you know you’ve entered into the Christmas spirit. Some 30 beautifully lit Christmas trees line the driveway, approaching the main resort. Inside the main hotel lobby, a 20-foot tall, elegantly decorated Christmas tree takes pride of place, flanked by the famous Celtic Manor oak dragons. A constellation of brilliant white Christmas lights are spread across the Mezzanine while a 12-foot long electric train set enthrals children and adults alike as it trundles around the track to the side of the main entrance.

Christmas at the resort offers a touch of magic guaranteed to captivate children of all ages. The Hideaway Club offers a busy schedule of activities planned for children this season, including a treasure hunt, a pantomime and a Christmas party complete with games and festive antics.

On Christmas Eve afternoon, Merlins Bar is the centre of attention as grown-ups celebrate the end of shopping season with a wind-down tipple in front of the log fire while they watch the kids hang on the words of Celtic Manor’s special Christmas storyteller, Mrs Claus. She kindly takes time out of her hectic schedule to read festive tales and lead the children for a sneak peak at Santa’s landing strip. Those children staying as guests on Christmas Eve wake up to another treat, a Christmas stocking embroidered with Dylan the dragon, Celtic Manor’s mascot.

Christmas Day at Celtic Manor

This year, guests can treat themselves to Christmas Day Lunch at one of Celtic Manor’s five unique venues.

Amazing ice sculptures, the fresh aroma of live Christmas trees and a visit from Santa makes the Caernarfon Ballroom the perfect place for the family to feast on the Christmas Day gourmet buffet including traditional Roast Monmouthshire Turkey with all the trimmings and a special dessert island for the children.

Alternatively, Owens – the resort’s flagship fine dining restaurant – provides the ultimate Christmas experience starting with a glass of Laurent-Perrier Champagne, followed by a five-course gourmet meal with a musical accompaniment by the resort’s resident harpist.

Christmas Day Lunch is also available in The Olive Tree, the resort’s main restaurant, with a relaxed family atmosphere and views over the golf course, offering a sumptuous Christmas buffet and ambient music from a trio of musicians; Hedleys, an intimate setting for Christmas Day located in the 1860′s Manor House and the perfect location for couples and small parties, with a gourmet five-course menu and soft music provided by a harpist; and The Patio, also at The Manor House, a great family restaurant offering a magnificent four-course menu of traditional Christmas fare and entertainment from the resort’s pianist.
