Tee Pees, Horses, Wine, and Retro Trailers
Cherry Wood B&B in Zillah, three hours southeast of Seattle, is a working farm surrounded by 15 wineries. Owners offer wine tasting trips by horseback to and from their family-run orchard. The bed and breakfast offers guests unusual luxury accommodations in 'Ralph Lauren' style Tee Pees, along with more traditional upscale rooms in the house. Tee Pees are equipped with antiques, cots, down comforters, and faux fur blankets for a luxurious, outdoor lodging experience. Rates are $90 per night, double occupancy and breakfast is included. This is a destination where guests can rest by the pool viewing Mt. Adams and enjoy a panorama of the Yakima Valley's vineyards and orchards.
Every year, Cherry Wood hosts a large Wine Tasting on Horseback ride through Wine Country that has included up to 68 riders at a time. Riders are often treated to the Dutch oven cooking of Andy Mills, a one-armed Western Chef, and may even be serenaded with cowboy tunes by a quartet led by the trip outfitter, Paul Wilson. For more information, visit http://www.cherrywoodbandb.com or call 509-829-3500. In addition, Cherry Wood works in tandem with Christopher Cellars to rent out two Air Stream trailers, parked under the winery’s cherry trees. Choose between the “retro pink” trailer, complete with chandelier, and the “cowgirl” trailer. Trailers rent for $90 per night, double occupancy, with breakfast.
For more information on the trailers, contact Sarah Fewel at 509-829-6717.
