Concord Chamber's Chocolate Festival Chases Away Mid-Winter Blues

CONCORD, Calif., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Looking for the perfect outing to bust out of your mid-winter blues? Enjoy an afternoon surrounded by luscious chocolate, champagne and live music at the lavish Chocolate Festival presented by the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce and the Crowne Plaza Concord Hotel. The event will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2006 from 1-5 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza at 45 John Glenn Drive in Concord.

Guests at the event will be greeted at the door with a chocolate-dipped strawberry and a glass of champagne. They will be invited to stroll through the hotel's beautiful atrium and sample chocolate delicacies, as well as wine and chocolate pairings, from a wide variety of vendors. A no-host bar with chocolate martinis and food demonstrations will round out the event.

"What could be more enticing than an afternoon devoted to chocolate and fine wine?" asks Keith McMahon, Concord Chamber CEO. "Our Chamber staff and members have planned an event to be remembered by foodies and chocolate connoisseurs."

Chocolate confection samples will be provided by the world-famous Ghirardelli Chocolate, along with local renowned chocolate purveyors, Grand Avenue Chocolates, Cafe Leonidas, and Chocolate Maddness. Additional vendors include: Crowne Plaza Concord, Commodore Dining Cruises, Dave's Cuisine, Fat Burger, Agave Restaurant, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Malaya Center for Health + Healing, Costco, Panera Bread, Chocolate Diet, and the Diablo Valley College Culinary Department. The event's presenting sponsor is the Crowne Plaza Concord Hotel, and additional sponsors are Agave Restaurant, the Contra Costa Times, Pulaski Tickets and Tours, Tressel Communications, and World Financial Group.

Tickets for the Chocolate Festival are $25 per person for adults, $12 per child under 12 years old, and infants are free.
