Continental Airlines Earns Highest Federal Aviation Administration Award for Companywide Maintenance Excellence

HOUSTON, April 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Continental Airlines (NYSE:CAL) today received honors for companywide excellence in Aviation Maintenance Training from the Federal Aviation Administration. The carrier earned the FAA Diamond Certificate of Excellence for Aviation Maintenance Training, the highest award offered as part of the organization’s Aviation Maintenance Technician Award Program. Certificates of Excellence are given to employers with a specific percentage of employees who have participated in the Individual Technician Phase Awards and who have received honors for completing up to 100 extra hours of Aviation Maintenance and FAA regulations and policy training.

In addition to Continental’s award earned as a company overall, 26 of Continental’s maintenance stations in the United States also were awarded Diamond Awards individually.
