Continental Airlines Inaugurates Nonstop Service to Bristol, England; Flights to Largest City in Southwest England Begin May 19

NEW YORK, May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Continental Airlines (NYSE:CAL) will begin daily nonstop flights from its New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport to Bristol, England starting tomorrow. This new service will link New York with the largest city in southwest England, and is the first ever scheduled nonstop trans-Atlantic service to this region.

This new service is the first in a wave of six new trans-Atlantic routes Continental is inaugurating from New York this year. Following the May 19 inaugural flight to Bristol, Continental will begin nonstop service from New York/Newark to Belfast on May 26; Stockholm, June 2; Hamburg, June 19; Berlin, June 30; and Delhi on Nov. 1.

Continental flight CO76 departs New York/Newark daily at 8:55 p.m. and arrives in Bristol at 8:55 a.m. the next day. The return flight CO77 departs Bristol daily at 11:10 a.m. and arrives in New York/Newark at 2 p.m. the same day. The flight times are seven hours heading east and seven hours and 50 minutes traveling west.

They can now fly nonstop to Bristol.”

Continental’s New York/Newark to Bristol flights are operated with a 172-seat Boeing 757 aircraft, carrying 16 passengers in the award winning BusinessFirst cabin and 156 in economy. This premium-class cabin features extra-wide electronic sleeper seats with 55-inch pitch, adjustable winged headrests and personal video screens. Other BusinessFirst amenities include gourmet menus and award-winning wines and champagnes.
