Daytona Beach, Fla. – Twenty-three miles of sparkling beaches, balmy 75-degree weather and great vacation values await families who choose to getaway to the Daytona Beach area during its Spring Family Beach Break season which runs from March 13-May 25, 2006. In its second year, Spring Family Beach Break features special packages, discounts and offers good at more than 28 participating Daytona Beach area hotels, attractions, restaurants and shops.

No matter how you define your family, the Daytona Beach area provides an exceptional family vacation experience. "In the past few years, we have seen a sharp increase in the number of families and mature travelers who vacation here during the spring season," says Sharon Mock, president/CEO of the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. "This, coupled with our shrinking number of visiting students, has made our area a very attractive family spring break destination."

Spring Family Beach Break specials feature a variety of accommodation types – from hotels and condominiums to quaint vacation homes and cottages – offering deals to suit every budget.
Families and mature travelers can enjoy the height of luxury – and s’mores – at The Shores Resort & Spa. The AAA Four Diamond resort’s S’mores Family Package includes a room for two and complimentary breakfast for two adults. Children up to 16 years of age eat free when ordering from the kids' menu (maximum two children). This package also includes a complete S'mores Kit with souvenir tin. Package rates start at $219 per night.
Guests at the Bahama House and the Best Western Aku Tiki can stay two nights and receive daily continental breakfast, fresh baked cookies, free high-speed Internet access and free admission to the Marine Science Center at special package rates starting at $99 per night.
Participating restaurants and attractions include: Cancun Lagoon Restaurant, Dancing Dragonfly’s Whimsical Gift Gallery, Daytona Lagoon, Haunts of the World’s Most Famous Beach Ghost Tours, Inlet Harbor Marina & Restaurant, Let’s Get Twisted hair braiding, RiverGrille on the Tomoka, Speed Park Motorsports, and the popular TrolleyBoats land and river sightseeing tour.
Visitors will also find plenty of fun festivals and events to keep them entertained during their stay. This spring, families can choose to enjoy Florida State League baseball featuring the Daytona Cubs at the historic Jackie Robinson Ballpark or watch a sea turtle be released back into the wild during the Marine Science Center’s Turtle Day on April 22. Art festivals, classic auto shows and concerts featuring world-renowned musicians are also slated to take place throughout the spring season.
