BARBADOS, W.I., Aug. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Commencing December 8, 2005, travelers can easily escape winter and head to Barbados on Delta Air Lines' new non-stop service between Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and Barbados' Grantley Adams International Airport.

Delta, one of the world's leading carriers, will operate its year 'round, three time weekly non-stop flights on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The flights, scheduled for Monday, Thursday and Saturday, will now allow travelers to depart from Atlanta and in four short hours be on the island enjoying the warmth of the Bajan sun and the renowned hospitality of the Barbadian people. One added benefit of the new service is the convenience which vacationers from other, previously underserved, parts of the country will experience in now traveling to Barbados.

The perfectly timed new flights allow for convenient connections into Atlanta from over one hundred U.S. cities. Some of the key connecting cities include Los Angeles, San Francisco, St. Louis, Chicago, Denver, Houston and New Orleans.

"Delta's new service from its home at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport allows an opportunity for each one of the 88 million passengers' passing thru Atlanta annually to visit Barbados and experience all that the island has to offer," said Bill Silvermintz, Vice President of Marketing for the Americas at the Barbados Tourism Authority. "It's great to welcome Delta to Barbados as it reflects the continued growth and popularity of the island."

The new service offers travelers tremendous flexibility in making their plans. Now they have the option of either a quick two-night mini-break, a four-night getaway or enjoying the island for a week or longer.
