Denver’s Larimer Square Announces Holiday Highlights

Charming Denver Venue Unveils One-of-a-Kind Food, Drink and Events

DENVER, Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ — Larimer Square, metro Denver’s answer for hot nightlife, dining and shopping, today unveiled highlights of its holiday food, drink, shopping and events. Although it’s technically not a “square,” this area’s charming, hundred-year-old brick buildings now house some of Denver’s finest restaurants, hot nightlife and shops within a safe, festive one-block area. The following are Larimer Square’s holiday highlights:

Chilled, pineapple-infused vodka.

Stoli Dolis are made by topping off a giant crock full of fresh chopped pineapple with Stoli vodka. The Stoli “marinates” for 10-14 days, creating a potent pineapple “nectar.” The Capital Grille, 1450 Larimer St., Denver, (720) 289-6072.

Cranberry Mojitos.

The holiday version of this drink is a delectable blend of Bacardi, fresh mint, lime juice, sugar and cranberry juice — garnished with an edible stalk of fresh sugar cane imported from Hawaii. Samba Room, 1460 Larimer St., Denver, (720) 956-1701.

Eggnog Cheesecake.

The dessert version of this holiday favorite is served with butterscotch mousse and garnished with hand-made butterscotch sauce. Rioja, 1433 Larimer St., Denver, (303) 820-2282.

“Bubbly” by the Glass.

More than 40 sparkling wines by the glass, split or bottle — plus still wine, cocktails and beer are available. Splurge on a glass of Taittinger Brut la Francaise for $18. Corridor 44, 1433 Larimer St., Denver, (303) 893-0044.

“Real” Hot Cocoa.

Just say “no” to synthetic chocolate syrup. Hot chocolate made with real cocoa powder, whole milk and whipped cream will blow your mind (and tastebuds). The Market on Larimer Square, 1445 Larimer St., Denver, (303) 534-5140.

Limited-edition Sterling Silver Snowflakes.

Every year, Gusterman Silversmiths makes a limited-edition, sterling silver snowflake. Only 100 custom sterling snowflakes are available for $125 each. When they’re gone, they’re gone. Gusterman Silversmiths, 1424-D Larimer Square, Denver, (303) 629-6927.

31st Annual Tuba Concert – Dec. 11, 2005, 1-2 p.m.

“Four calling birds” have nothing on the 400 tuba players who descend on Larimer Square every year for a concert of holiday songs. One of the longest-running holiday festivities in Colorado.
