Discovery Cruise Line Introduces Reduced Mid-Week Rate
MIAMI, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Discovery Cruise Line, the largest tour operator from South Florida to Grand Bahama Island, announced that the $99.99 per person rate previously charged only for Wednesday departures of its same-day roundtrip passengers will be extended to all other weekdays as well. Previously, the rate for other weekday same-day roundtrip cruises was $119.99 per person. The new rate becomes effective August 15, 2005. The price for weekend cruises remains higher than the weekday rate.
According to Hanns J. Hahn, General Manager of Discovery, "The change reflects our effort to bring more visitors to Grand Bahama who are not able to spend one or more nights there, by reducing the rate for same-day roundtrip cruises thereby making the experience more affordable. Based on the response we have received on Wednesday sailings, we anticipate many families and tourists visiting the area will take advantage of this great offer. The $99.99 includes the cruise, three meals on the roundtrip cruise and all the entertainment."
Prices do not include port parking fees, transfers, or shipboard gratuities. A $10 security surcharge and immigration user fee is collected at pier side, and a $25 per person Bahamian departure fee and fuel surcharge is added to the purchase price for all junior and adult fares. Rates, facilities and services are subject to change without notice.
Discovery sails daily from Fort Lauderdale to Grand Bahama Island and offers Fun Day Cruises and Cruise 'N Stay Vacation Packages to most resorts on Grand Bahama.
Discovery passengers enjoy all the amenities of a traditional cruise in one fun-filled day, including three lavish buffet meals included in the price. Discovery departs early morning and arrives in Grand Bahama at 1 p.m. so passengers can enjoy the afternoon on Grand Bahama.
The cruise line recently celebrated a benchmark when it sailed its 4 millionth passenger to Grand Bahama Island, and this month Discovery introduced a new VIP service, which includes the award-winning seven-course dinner in Grand Bahama Grill, a private lounge, transfers on island, and priority embarkation and debarkation.
