Garmin(R) StreetPilot(R) Technology Offers Customers Detailed Driving Directions
TULSA, Okla., Oct. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dollar Rent A Car, a subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. (NYSE:DTG) , today announced it would begin offering GPS-enabled (Global Positioning System) navigation via the Garmin StreetPilot c330 at 149 popular locations in the U.S. and Canada effective October 18, 2005.
The StreetPilot c330 features an easy to use color touchscreen with detailed street data including nearly six million points of interest, including hotels, restaurants, ATMs, gas stations, and tourist attractions. With turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions and the ability to choose between a three-dimensional or bird's eye view, getting to a destination is easy. Optimized for Dollar Rent A Car, the c330 can route drivers to their specific vehicle's rental return facility with a minimum of keystrokes.
StreetPilot features the ability to display text directions in 17 different languages and spoken directions in 11, including English, Spanish, French, German and Italian.
"Whether a customer is traveling for business or on vacation, the addition of the optional StreetPilot could mean the difference of arriving at their destination or arriving at their destination with time to spare," said Jay Foley, Senior Executive Vice President of Corporate Operations. "With families and business travelers trying to make the most of their time while sometimes driving in unfamiliar territory, more of our customers began asking us for navigational assistance."
StreetPilot is available for the nominal fee of $9.95 per day and is subject to availability at the time of pickup.
