Second Annual Downtown Royal Oak Celebrates In Style

September 29 & 30, 2006

ROYAL OAK, Mich., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ — Long known as Southeast Michigan’s entertainment capitol, Downtown Royal Oak has also evolved as a major destination for style. From art, couture and cuisine — and everything in between, Downtown Royal Oak will celebrate its unique purveyors of style and taste on Friday and Saturday, September 29 & 30 in a self-guided walking tour of trunk shows, tastings, demonstrations and fall sales called Downtown Royal Oak In Style. In addition, new purveyors of fashion and style signed on to Downtown Royal Oak over the past few months, including American Apparel, Hulla Baloo, Sprout, Prodigy Couture, Vogue Couture, Aqua Salon and Appletree Room, enhancing the Downtown’s retail mix.

Three established arbiters of taste and style are expanding their businesses due to great success in Downtown Royal Oak, including Metals in Time, whose owner, third generation jeweler Sergio Basmajian is moving his very successful business from the Northwest corner of Main and Fourth to historical landmark bank building at the Southwest corner of Main and Fourth; Lori London of Write Impressions is moving her successful card, gift and custom invitation shop from Fourth Street into a larger space on Washington Avenue; and the popular Alex Emelio salon recently added several hundred square feet to their location on Main Street.

Guests will enjoy a pedestrian tour of several of Downtown Royal Oak’s arbiters of taste who offer special, one-of-a-kind products and services with the personal touch and customer service of a bygone era. The tour includes state-of-the art condos, houses of fashion and couture, unique jewelers offering fine, custom jewelry, fine designer jeans, European couture, trend-setting hair and make-up at world class salons, lingerie and expert bra fittings, home decor, crafts, unique gifts and custom gift baskets, chocolates and coffee — all can be found at Downtown Royal Oak In Style.
