Eos Airlines Readies Premium Class Service for Business Travelers with Introduction of Distinct Seat

At Industry-Best 21 Square Feet per Passenger, Eos’ Patented Seat and Unique Cabin Layout Provide Unrivaled Personal Space, Bringing Transatlantic Business Travel to New Heights

PURCHASE, N.Y. and SAN DIEGO, Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ — Today at the National Business Travel Association (NBTA) Annual Convention, Eos took its next step in offering premium class service for business travelers by officially unveiling its unique airline suite. The suite, which is part of a patented cabin design (patent pending), radically transforms the transatlantic airline experience for business travelers by giving them what they desire most: space and comfort to perform and revive.

Scheduled to begin offering the first all-premium service between New York’s JFK International Airport and London’s Stansted International Airport in mid-September, Eos brings an innovative and specialized approach to air travel, reinventing the commonplace flight environment (a multi-class airplane with more than 200 seats) into a premium tailored space that provides superior customer attention and hospitality for 48 guests aboard a 757 aircraft. The airline has recently received its ‘show cause order’ from the U.S. Transportation Department, tentatively approving the airline’s certification, and is currently embarking on FAA proving run flights.

The centerpiece of the Eos experience is embodied in the new seat and cabin configuration. The Eos seat is more like a suite, offering an unprecedented 21 square feet of personal space per guest. Driven by comfort and convenience, the cabin offers staggered seating and a design that provides an environment conducive to everything from a productive meeting to enough privacy for a restful, refreshing flight.

“We’ve designed every aspect of the Eos experience specifically with the business traveler in mind. We recognize that time in the air could be better spent relaxing and reviving for an upcoming business trip or to accomplish work along the way in privacy,” said David Spurlock, founder and CEO of Eos. “The Eos suite offers the most personal space of any commercial airline, providing an exceptional experience for every guest who travels with us.”

The Eos Seat & Configuration

Eos began its approach by rethinking and redesigning the way space is allocated, providing more comfort with a seat that offers guests 21 square feet of room. The ergonomic design and flexible configurations includes a shell that surrounds the seat back, thus affording added privacy with the staggered seating layout. Because of that staggered configuration, each of the 24 individual window seats has an unobstructed, direct path to the aisle.

Each Eos seat, complete with lumbar support, measures over 21-inches wide when upright, and 24-inches wide while fully flat.

The Eos suite includes a combination ottoman/companion seat nearly three feet in front of the primary seat. The retractable table can be pulled between the two seats allowing for meetings or enjoyable dining experience with a fellow traveler. Each seat fully reclines to a 78-inch bed and comes equipped with a luxurious blended cashmere blanket and Tempurpedic(R) foam sleep pillow for guests who prefer a refreshing sleep. For those who enjoy catching up on the latest in entertainment, individual in-flight entertainment (IFE) devices will enable guests to view movies or listen to music throughout the flight.

Naturally, for added comfort and convenience, guests have easy access to seat controls, a flight attendant call button and lighting controls contained in the arm rest. Ample storage space is available within the suite itself with the ability to house a small rolling suitcase under the ottoman and plenty of overhead bin space.

“We founded Eos on a simple premise, that an airline could know its customers well enough to become a true specialist, offering a superior travel experience at a competitive price,” added Spurlock.
