BANGKOK – Accor has launched its Ibis economy hotel brand in Thailand with two new hotels – Ibis Siam Bangkok and Ibis Huamark Bangkok. Opening rates at the Ibis Huamark Bangkok start from US$22 a night, and US$24 a night at Ibis Siam Bangkok, until April 30th. KLM TO LAUNCH SCHEDULED FLIGHTS BETWEEN AMSTERDAM AND CHENGDU

AMSTERDAM – KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will commence a flight between Amsterdam and the Chinese destination of Chengdu from May 28th. The new roundtrip service will operate two times per week. Flight KL 891 will depart from Schiphol on Wednesdays and Sundays, arriving in Chengdu the next day. The return flight, KL 892, will leave on Thursdays and Mondays, arriving in Amsterdam the same day.

AIR NEW ZEALAND SUSPENDS OFF-SEASON CHRISTCHURCH-LA FLIGHTS

CHRISTCHURCH – Air New Zealand has suspended its non-stop twice weekly-service between Christchurch and Los Angeles in the off-season period. The airline said passenger numbers from April 3rd to October 28th were inadequate to sustain a direct service on the route. The carrier started the Christchurch to Los Angeles service in November 2004 and operated thrice-weekly flights until March 2005 when these were reduced to one flight per week. The thrice-weekly services were reinstated in mid-December 2005 but passenger numbers have proven weaker than expected.

JETSTAR ASIA LAUNCHES FLIGHTS BETWEEN SINGAPORE AND BANGALORE
