Edd Helms Air Conditioning & Electric Awarded Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale Air Conditioning Renovations to Prepare for King Tut
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale has selected Edd Helms Air Conditioning & Electric, one of South Florida's top mechanical and electrical contracting firms, to perform the air conditioning improvements needed to host the King Tut exhibition, Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs, opening later this year. With more than 400,000 visitors expected, Edd Helms Air Conditioning & Electric started the project on July 12th and must complete the work by October 4th. According to Irvin Lippman, the Museum's Executive Director, "Edd Helms Air Conditioning & Electric provided the Museum with the best team capabilities for this critical project. They have been a business landmark in the South Florida community for 30 years, and they have demonstrated their ability for our Museum to continue its exhibitions and daily operations during these improvements."
With South Florida's marine climate, controlling humidity and temperature inside the Museum was essential to Fort Lauderdale's selection as just one of four U.S. stops for the King Tut exhibit. According to Tom Henz, of Fort Lauderdale-based Henz Engineering, which provided the HVAC design, "Wade Helms and his team at Edd Helms Air Conditioning & Electric understood the building technologies and the computerized building automation control system designed to manage the hundreds of variable conditions the Museum will experience with the attendance expected for Tut and other exhibitions."
Broward County's elected officials have been most supportive of this project, with funding assistance approved by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, and additional funding assistance through Nikki Grossman and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau. Edd Helms Air Conditioning & Electric is also supporting exhibitions in 2005 and 2006 as a Museum Corporate Sponsor.
Edd Helms Air Conditioning & Electric is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Edd Helms Group, Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets: EDDH), located in Miami, Florida. They are members of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, the Mechanical Contractors Association of South Florida, the National Electrical Contractors Association, the National Marine Manufacturers Association, and the Marine Industries Association of South Florida.
