Inaugural PWT Celebrity Shootout Walleye Fishing Event, September 18-21, 2006

MANITOBA, Canada, March 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Aikens Lake Wilderness Lodge has announced it will host the Inaugural PWT Celebrity Shootout Walleye Fishing Event, September 18-21, 2006. The event will benefit the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which provides financial support to find a cure for cystic fibrosis.

Mr. Esiason and other celebrities will team up with the top ten professional walleye anglers from the PWT (the Professional Walleye Trail, North America's most prestigious and influential walleye fishing circuit). The event will be broadcast on The Outdoor Channel.

"Fishing events have long played a role in calling attention to causes like finding a cure for cystic fibrosis," says Esiason. "I was just at Aikens Lake Wilderness Lodge this past summer with my two children and it was an experience of a lifetime. This event is a unique opportunity to show the world the amazing sport of walleye fishing, the beauty of Manitoba and, most importantly, to benefit finding a cure for cystic fibrosis." Esiason's son Gunnar was diagnosed with the disease in 1993.

"With great outdoor experiences available throughout the year and high quality fisheries management in place for years, Manitoba has become a top vacation destination for anglers who want to catch big fish. Aikens Lake is a great example," says Don Lamont, Outdoor Product Manager, Travel Manitoba.

"Having the PWT's top anglers at Aikens will showcase the excitement and popularity of walleye fishing," says Pit Turenne, general manager of Aikens. "It will also be the first time that the PWT takes its tournaments north of the border into Canada."

Since 1949, Aikens Lake Wilderness Lodge has accommodated generations of families, friends, and corporate incentive travel. Only two hours from Winnipeg, the remote Lodge sits alone on the shores of pristine Aikens Lake, home of some of the best walleye fishing in North America. With unparalleled fishing and service, the "Aikens Experience" is one to cherish forever.

The PWT, a 17-year-old sporting event, is part of the In-Fisherman Communications family. Amateur spots remain at 2006 tournaments: (218) 829-0620, pwt@in-fisherman.com. In-Fisherman is the fishing industry's leading communicator.
