Free Car Rental in Europe With Railpass Purchase From Rail Europe

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/28/2005 -- As a special promotion, Rail Europe is offering a free day of economy car rental in Europe to anyone purchasing a 5-day Eurail Selectpass for 3, 4 or 5 European countries between April 4 and July 28, 2005. This promotion is only available from Rail Europe.

The Eurail Selectpass provides unlimited first-class rail travel for 5 days (may be consecutive or not) within a 2-month timeframe anywhere in the purchaser's choice of 3, 4 or 5 countries connected by rail or qualifying ferries.

This free day of car rental offer, called the Eurail Selectpass Drive Promotion, is valid for either an individual Eurail Selectpass (starting at $370 US/$485 CAD for 3 countries) or the 2-adult Eurail Selectpass Saver version (starting at $316US/$414 CAD per person for 3 countries).

One free car day is awarded per passenger, so purchasers of the 2-person Saver version receive 2 free rental car days. This offer applies only to a manual transmission economy car.

Changes which increased options for travelers using the customizable Eurail Selectpass were announced earlier:

-- Spain and Italy are now considered bordering countries because a ferry
service connecting these two nations was added to the pass;
-- Slovenia and Croatia were added and count as one country;
-- Bulgaria, Serbia/Montenegro were added and count as one country;

Other countries that may be included in a Eurail Selectpass: Austria, Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg counted as one country), Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Railpasses must start being used within six months of purchase, which means if bought in May, for example, the railpass and free car rental day(s) can be used as late as November.
