Freighter Cruises to Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific Islands.

For the first time in many years, since the Blue Star Line left the service, starting in March freighters will be offering approx. 60-day roundtrip voyages to Australia and New Zealand sailing through the Panama Canal. The itinerary will now include calls at ports in Tahiti and New Caledonia. Passengers with more time available may also choose to continue the cruise on the second leg of the voyage to Northern Europe and back for a total of 84 days.

Westport, CT (PRWEB) February 16, 2006 -- For the first time in many years, since the Blue Star Line left the service, starting in March freighters will be offering approx. 60-day roundtrip voyages to Australia and New Zealand sailing through the Panama Canal. The itinerary will now include calls at ports in Tahiti and New Caledonia. Passengers with more time available may also choose to continue the cruise on the second leg of the voyage to Northern Europe and back for a total of 84 days.

Cruise from one of the east coast ports and back, or travel one way, on modern French and German containerships offering the following itinerary every few weeks:

London, Tilbury terminal, UK (Day 1); Rotterdam, Holland (2), Dunkirk (4) and Le Havre (5) France; New York, NY (13); Norfolk, VA (15); Savannah, GA (18); Manzanillo, Panama (22); transit the Panama Canal (23); Papeete, Tahiti (33); Noumea, New Caledonia (41); Brisbane (44), Sydney (46) and Melbourne (49) all in Australia; Auckland, New Zealand (54); transit the Panama Canal (68); Manzanillo (69); Savannah (73); Philadelphia, PA (76); London (84). The average port time is one to two days.

Accommodations for up to six passengers include the Owner's double bed suites and single cabins, with fares varying from EUR 90 to EUR 120 ($108 - $144) per person per day.
