Do It the French Way... Celebrate "French Cocktail Hour" June 2nd - 8th in New York!
NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 05/31/2005 -- From June 2-8, 2005, consumers can celebrate in style (French style, that is) and raise their glasses at 40 area restaurants in a toast to the French Cocktail Hour. The first thirty guests at participating restaurants who order a featured drink from 6 - 8 pm each evening will receive a free assortment of delicious hors d'oeuvres to complement the "apéritif moment." See below for list of participating restaurants. Similar promotions will also take place in Chicago and Los Angeles.
This week-long celebration is in honor of the second annual "French Cocktail Hour Day" on Thursday, June 2, 2005, when corks will pop in 31 cities around the world. From Stockholm to Shanghai, Toronto to Tokyo, New York, Paris, London and beyond, the convivial "apéritif moment" will be the toast of the town. An apéritif -- from the Latin aperire meaning "to open" -- is a gathering of friends around simple, delicious drinks and finger foods, all designed to whet the appetite and ease into evening.
