Dream Foundation and National Hospice Foundation Seek Donations of Frequent Flyer Miles....
to Help Reunite Loved Ones Impacted by Hurricane Katrina
SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the Dream Foundation is responding to the needs of hospices in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama by setting up a designated frequent flyer miles fund. Partnering with the National Hospice Foundation, the Dream Foundation will use the donated miles to reunite hospice families and fly volunteer caregivers to impacted regions. Dream Foundation (http://www.dreamfoundation.org/) is the first and only non-profit organization that grants final wishes to adults. Part of the Dream Foundation's mission is to serve hospice families in need.
"It is important that we come together as a country to show our support for one another, to show our understanding of priorities, and to be an example of hope," remarks Dream Foundation Founder and President Thomas Rollerson. "It is within the scope of our mission to help families in crisis. The needs of those impacted by this horrible tragedy are too great for one organization to handle alone. By working together, we can make an immediate and lasting difference in the lives of others. Let us honor those in need with not just gifts of material goods but those of comfort, compassion, love and resolution."
To donate frequent flyer miles to the Dream Foundation's emergency hospice efforts, please donate online at dreamfoundation.org or call at (805) 564-2131. 100% of the frequent flyer miles banked from this program will be directed towards hurricane relief efforts for hospice families.
"Compassion and caring are most powerful when provided on an ongoing basis, over time," comments J. Donald Schumacher, President and CEO of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. "In working with the Dream Foundation, we hope to bring comfort and hope to those coping with loss and reassure them that support will be there when they need it."
Now in its 11th year, the Dream Foundation's mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families battling terminal illnesses. The National Hospice Foundation is the principal fundraising partner of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO). NHF supports all NHPCO initiatives devoted to the promotion of end-of-life care and quality care for terminally ill persons and their families.
