It's in the (Gift) Cards This Year - Travel on American Airlines
FORT WORTH, Texas, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Let's face it, sometimes gift giving -- and receiving -- can be hard. (Remember that ugly shirt?) That's one reason why retailers sold an estimated $17 billion in gift cards during the 2004 holiday season. And this year, they may be even more appealing, thanks to the introduction of the American Airlines Gift Card.
Available in $50 and $100 denominations, the American Airlines Gift Card can be used toward the purchase of air travel on American Airlines, American Eagle and the AmericanConnection(R) carriers. No need to worry about this gift going out of style, either -- the cards don't expire and have no dormancy fees.
Perhaps best of all, they're convenient and easy to purchase. The Cards are available in thousands of select grocery, drug and specialty retail locations across the country.
"Our new gift card is a great opportunity for American Airlines to serve both current and new customers' gift-giving needs, expanding their options to include the gift of travel," said Dan Garton, Executive Vice President of Marketing at American. "Gift Card recipients can check schedules, book flights and redeem their Gift Cards at AA.com."
The Cards can be used for travel in the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Multiple Gift Cards may be applied to a single ticket. In addition, if the ticket price exceeds the value of the Gift Card, the balance can be paid using a credit or debit card.
