GM Sponsors First-Ever Vehicle Showcase on the Riverfront Plaza

Featuring customized commercial and recreational vehicles

DETROIT, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ — Working hard and playing hard … it’s the mantra of a city like Detroit. With a theme of “GM Commercial Trucks and Vans … Hard Working and Hard Playing,” General Motors Fleet and Commercial Operations is hosting the first-ever riverfront showcase that will feature vehicles that are known for “getting the job done” but can be transformed into ultimate customized family/recreational vehicles. The event is scheduled for Thursday, September 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the all-new Renaissance Center Riverfront Plaza, which is located outside the GM Wintergarden near the Detroit River.

This event will feature some of the “shining stars” of the Chevrolet and GMC family of fleet vehicles, including high-end luxury conversion vans provided by members of the Conversion Van Marketing Association, the Kodiak and Topkick pickup trucks and Versa-Hauler — capable of hauling horses, race cars and campers, among other items — provided by Monroe Truck Equipment, and motor homes built on Chevrolet chassis, provided by General RV. In addition to the vehicles, there will be live entertainment and giveaways. This event marks the first official GM activity to be held on the Renaissance Center Plaza — GM’s beautiful new backyard. The event is free to employees and residences of the Renaissance Center and to the public.
