Recognize Barton Creek Resort & Spa for Excellence in Golf

(AUSTIN, TX – December 5, 2006) Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas recently received several awards for excellence in the world of golf. Links, Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, and Golfweek each recognized Barton Creek for its spectacular golf. “These awards are a tremendous recognition for our staff at Barton Creek who work year round to provide the best possible golf experience for our guests,” said G. In the November/December issue of Links, the readers of this publication were asked “Which Texas resorts would you most like to visit?” Barton Creek received the highest score coming in at 59%. The editors of Links named Barton Creek the “Best of Texas” and wrote, “Everything is bigger in Texas, including the golf resorts. Golf Magazine once again named the Fazio Foothills and Fazio Canyons courses at Barton Creek in its biennial “Top 100 You Can Play.” The Foothills came in at #68, and the Canyons came in at #69. Both courses are designed by Tom Fazio and are certified Audubon International Cooperative Sanctuaries, with the Canyons course having the additional distinction of being one of only 50 courses in the world to achieve the Audubon International Signature Sanctuary status.

Golf Digest named Barton Creek Resort & Spa #47 in its biennial “75 Best Golf Resorts in North America.” The ranking is based on the evaluations from the magazine’s Course Rating Panel—a group of more than 800 low-handicap golfers who rate hundreds of resorts throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
