The Goring Game Fair was opened this week by the infamous Otis Ferry. Eggs were indeed on the menu but their were no ministers in sight as Otis, best known for storming the House of Commons in an attempt to stop the ban on hunting, tucked into his "absolutely delicious!" lunch of venison. Indeed, who better is there to open an event celebrating this traditional and tantalisingly tasty fare at the heart of the English countryside?

Not only is it rich and robust in flavour but - as head chef of The Goring, named as Tio Pepe’s ‘Best British Restaurant' points out - it is free range, lean, naturally reared and low in cholesterol.

Starters range from The Goring Game Terrine to Rabbit and Wild Mushroom Soup. Available as mains are mouth-watering treats such as Roast Grouse, Partridge or Pheasant, and the deservedly famous Goring Game Pie; and the puddings as wide-ranging and delectable as any great British Restaurant's should be.
Such delicacies as The Goring has to offer can naturally only be accompanied by the very best of wines, and since it boasts one of the greatest cellars in the capital you will not be disappointed. For many years The Goring has bought wines 'en primeur' and allowed them to mature for your delectation, and its vast selection guarantees that there is actually something to suit every pocket.
