GREEN LAKE, Wis., Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The Green Lake Country Visitors Bureau is decking the halls for the Holiday season with two fun festivals, "Christmas in Princeton," and "Dickens of a Christmas."

"Christmas is a very exciting time of year throughout central Wisconsin," stated Sue McConnell of Green Lake Country Visitors Bureau. "Visitors can come to relax and ease into the holidays."

Start holiday shopping during "Christmas in Princeton" (November 25-27, 2005). Princeton will be prepared with its holiday best for a weekend of traditions and promotions.

The "Lights On Water Street" parade takes place Friday evening, followed by caroling, hot chocolate and the light of the Christmas tree in the city parking lot.

The celebration continues throughout the weekend with activities for everyone.

-- On Saturday morning, tell Santa what you want for Christmas at Aunt
Judy's Cafe or get your picture taken with Santa at the Wee Cycle
Store at 2 p.m.
-- Horse and wagon rides are available 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday and
Sunday.
-- Stores and restaurants will offer promotions all weekend to enjoy the
food and shopping.

"Dickens of a Christmas," in Ripon (December 2-4, 2005) celebrates the sights, sounds and music of Christmas past. On Friday from 6-8:30 p.m., stroll down Watson Street and view the living window displays depicting a Victorian Christmas in the mid-1800s. There will be carolers, a gingerbread house contest, and afterglow parties including roasted chestnuts and hot cider.

Throughout the weekend, enjoy the Dickens of a Quilt Show held at Horicon Bank, where more than 100 exquisitely crafted quilts can be viewed. Also, stroll through Ripon's Enchanted Forest located in the Harwood Memorial Union on the Ripon College campus.

Other activities include a Tour of Homes, Dickens at the Library, Oliver Twist's Soup Kitchen, and Cratchit Cocktail Party. Enjoy holiday programs, brunches and more. Admission fees vary with activity.
