ISLAMORADA, Fla. – November 2006 – Cheeca Lodge, a Florida Keys favorite resort, is gearing up for the holiday season, which will be filled with carols, cookies, crafts and Cheeca’s barefoot elegance-style celebration. The luxury resort will offer a full program of holiday happenings for guests of all ages.

The holidays begin at Cheeca on Saturday, December 23rd, with a variety of festive activities. During the day, children can join in the fun at Camp Cheeca and spend time making holiday crafts and playing games while their parents enjoy eggnog and other seasonal specialties poolside or at the Beach Tiki Bar. Families can meet up on the beach for a holiday gathering with strolling carolers singing, as children participate in ornament-making and other activities, and adults enjoy complimentary eggnog. Later that evening, guests are invited to the “Dive-in Movie”, a special holiday presentation at the pool.

The fun continues on December 24th, with similar activities offered throughout the day. Cheeca Lodge will hold a special beachside holiday celebration in the afternoon, where kids can join in making gingerbread houses and adults can take part in eggnog-making with a special demonstration by Chef Barry Walling. A famous holiday “visitor” will also arrive by boat to hand out small gifts to the children before his big night. The evening will come to a close with a festive bonfire, a special reading of “The Night Before Christmas” and a family holiday sing-a-long. Christmas Day at Cheeca will include a Caribbean Christmas brunch, featuring a colorful buffet of island inspired holiday dishes and a special 4-course Christmas dinner in the elegant and notable Atlantic’s Edge restaurant.

Guests 21 years and older can ring in the New Year with Cheeca’s Old Havana Nights New Year’s Eve 5-Course Dinner & Gala, which includes dinner, New Year’s Eve party favors, one complimentary glass of champagne, and one complimentary cigar. Top off the celebrations with a New Year’s Day Brunch the next morning. Rates for accommodations during the holiday season range from $399 – $1,298 per night.
