Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six Resort & Spa Announces New Renovations

Fort Lauderdale Resort Aims to Please with Impressive Property Enhancements

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 16 /PRNewswire/ — A new era dawns at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six Resort & Spa, one of the impressive properties in the LXR Luxury Resorts (LXR) collection. Enchanting guests with its dazzling water views, stellar service and wide variety of amenities since the 1960s, the landmark hotel announces significant renovations made to the property, all part of a $25 million dollar enhancement plan.

“The enhancements and refurbishments reflect the quality and discerning style of our long-standing guests,” says Carlos Molinet, Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six general manager. “We are thrilled with the results, and are certain that our visitors, both repeat and new, will appreciate the spectacular improvements we’ve made to our guestrooms and amenities.”

Spearheaded by Atlanta-based Design Continuum, renovations have been made to guestrooms, landscaping, the resort’s lanai courtyard, and most noteworthy, the famed Pier Top. Design Continuum is responsible for the design and redesign of interiors of top hotels worldwide, including the Ritz Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation in Georgia, the Sheraton Bal Harbour in Miami, and the South Seas Resort on Captiva Island.

One of the plan’s most notable components is the complete refitting of 100 Deluxe Lanai guestrooms with a luxurious retro-modern design.

“The new guestroom interiors reflect a distinctive architecture with clean lines and simple tranquility, which complements the relationship between interior space and nature,” says Design Continuum’s Holly Kappes.

Refreshing and serene colors now create a backdrop for the natural wood, glass and stone employed in the crafting of lavish and spacious bathrooms, bedrooms and furnishings. Equipped with state-of-the-art entertainment conveniences, including a 42″ flat screen television and wireless Internet connection, the rooms feature a step-out patio or balcony, garden and marina views and are located in the two-story building surrounding the lanai courtyard area.

The redesigned lanai courtyard enchants with its lush landscaping, blooming tropical plants and emerald green lawn areas, which can be used for anything from sunrise yoga stretching to sunset cocktail get-togethers. Also new and available for receptions are two catering decks that can accommodate up to 200 people each and are ideal for guests who want to take advantage of the sensational South Florida climate. In the center of it all is the resort’s spectacular three-pool waterfall oasis, including a bubbling, 40-person hydrotherapy pool.

Additionally, The Pier Top — long known as a nighttime hot spot with panoramic views of downtown Fort Lauderdale — has been redesigned and reopened as South Florida’s premier special occasion venue, available exclusively for private events and small meetings.

“Knowing the fondness South Floridians have for The Pier Top, we were committed to and have succeeded in transforming this landmark space into a one-of-a-kind catering and event experience — a setting unmatched in Fort Lauderdale,” says Molinet.

Upon reopening this year, event planners and guests have been wowed by the space’s sleek new decor, innovative menu choices, and the finest china, crystal and silver. The venue focuses on the fantastic views to be had from The Pier Top, which continues to revolve 360 degrees every 66 minutes over the Fort Lauderdale skyline.

Future refurbishments include a complete soft goods renovation of all remaining guestrooms, resulting in an updated contemporary look, and a transformation of the hotel lobby, which will be opened up to take full advantage of the gorgeous views of the newly landscaped lawn and pools. The redesigned lobby space will feature stylish, comfortable areas where guests can gather for cocktails, dining and impromptu meetings. Additionally, the famed, full-service 127-slip Pier 66 Marina, one of Florida’s foremost yachting centers, is included in the remainder of the resort’s enhancement plans.
