InterContinental Hotels Group Encourages Its Loyalty Program Members To Donate Points to Red Cross

Company to Match Up to $125,000

ATLANTA, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) (NYSE:IHG) (ADRs) is reaching out to the 26 million members of its guest loyalty program, Priority Club(R) Rewards, to encourage them to donate unused program points to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

Priority Club Rewards members can donate their program points in 10,000-point denominations. Points will be converted into cash by InterContinental Hotels Group, and the company will match all contributions up to a maximum of $125,000. The funds will be given to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to meet the urgent and critical needs of Hurricane Katrina survivors by providing emergency shelter, food and water. Members can donate points online at http://www.priorityclub.com or by calling 1-888-211-9874.

The company also set up an employee emergency relief fund that encourages employees to make contributes to aid fellow employees. IHG will match employee contributions up to $100,000.

"InterContinental Hotels Group feels a social obligation to help those affected by Hurricane Katrina and the people who have suffered from its devastation," said Steve Porter, president, InterContinental Hotels Group, Americas. "During difficult times, our Priority Club Rewards members have stepped up and shown their commitment to helping those in need. We hope to give as much support as possible to local communities to provide the food, medical supplies and shelter that are desperately needed."

Since Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast, IHG's immediate priority has been focused on the safety and well being of guests and staff in the area. Several IHG hotels, including the Crowne Plaza Astor, have been used as shelters in the area for the thousands of residents without homes.
