Jekyll Island Ends Summer On a Classic Note

Jekyll Island, Ga. (July 6, 2006) – Say goodbye to summer with a classic-style farewell. Along with the sun and surf, visitors to Jekyll Island will enjoy the sights of classic cars during the inaugural Jekyll Island Classic Car Festival to be held August 18-20th on Jekyll Island. The Festival will feature vintage cars in a classic, family-oriented festival setting.
The Jekyll Island Classic Car Festival will feature a variety of classic cars. Auto activities will include an evening Classic Car Parade on August 18th, as well as a weekend-long car show for visitors. Car owners will also compete in categorized competition with the top prize winner receiving the Cars & Parts Magazine Best of Show Award.
The weekend will also include fun festival activities for the entire family. The Family Fun Zone will feature face painting, sand art, rock-climbing and more. Local bands will perform throughout the weekend hosted by The Bigdawg and Paul Show. Atlanta-grown Cigar Store Indians will highlight Saturday evening’s music entertainment. And no festival is complete without food, with tasty treats to tickle the taste buds available.
