Kum & Go Keeps Customers Truckin' in the Summer
32,800 Gallons of Gas to be Given Away to Kum & Go Customers
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa, May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Imagine not paying for gasoline for five years. With gasoline prices nearing all-time high prices and continuing to rise, think of what you could do with all that extra money. At summer's end, Kum & Go will give that opportunity to four lucky customers.
As part of its Keep on Truckin' summer promotion, Kum & Go will give away four entire tankers of gasoline -- 8,200 gallons in each tanker -- totaling 32,800 gallons of gasoline, valued at $16,154 each. That is enough gas to fill a 20-gallon tank 410 times or a 15-gallon tank 546 times. The contest begins May 23, 2005 and ends Sept. 5, 2005.
"This is a first of its kind promotion for Kum & Go," says Kyle Krause, president of Kum & Go. "It is an exciting way to show our genuine appreciation to our loyal customers."
Fun Facts:
-- 8,200 gallons of gas is enough for a town with a population of 585 to
have one tank each (figuring 14 gallon gas tank)
-- You could travel 180,400 miles (avg. 22 miles per gallon). That's
enough to travel from New York to Los Angeles 65 times.
-- You could take seven trips around the world (avg. 22 miles per
gallon).
-- It takes 420 barrels of oil to make 8,200 gallons of gasoline.
The promotion is open to Kum & Go customers who are residents in one of the 13 states in which Kum & Go operates, including Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Colorado, Arkansas, Wyoming and Wisconsin. Customers in these states can stop by and complete a registration form at any one of the 425 Kum & Go stores to be eligible to win. Official rules are available at any Kum & Go convenience store and at http://www.kumandgo.com/ . Winners' names will be drawn on September 5, 2005.
